Rossco’s isn’t just another venue – it’s a place built on history, community, and a love for sharing good times.
Rossco’s is a family-owned neighbourhood spot built on local roots and heartfelt memories. Co-owner Stuart Garbutt named the venue after his late father, Rossco, who owned the Tufnell Road property in Banyo for more than 40 years.
Born and raised in North Queensland cattle country, Rossco had a deep love for the land, produce, and people — values that continue to shape everything we do today.
After an 18-month transformation, the old family property has been reimagined into a vibrant local hangout. At Rossco’s, great food, drinks, and atmosphere come together in a space designed for connection.
Our Aussie lifestyle menu celebrates fresh, simple flavours with plenty of share plates, tapas-style bites, and generous dishes made for lingering with friends and family. Whether you’re enjoying casual footpath dining, soaking up the sunshine in our leafy beer garden, or relaxing inside with a drink in hand — there’s a spot for every mood.

Our Beer Garden is a partially undercover outdoor space designed for relaxed, social occasions, with a vibrant buzz flowing from afternoon into the evening. Centered around our olive tree - a nod to shared gatherings and the warmth of Mediterranean hospitality - the space is framed by surrounding greenery and softened by partial shade and afternoon sunshine (most of the time, it's QLD). Featuring two large booths, a mix of shared and smaller tables, and three screens, the area also offers visibility into our open kitchen, adding energy and atmosphere to the experience. Ideal for lingering over drinks, sharing plates and casual catch-ups, the layout comfortably hosts intimate groups of two, larger tables of up to eight, or groups of nine or more across multiple tables. With direct access to the bar, you can enjoy the full Rossco’s offering in what we like to call our little Banyo oasis.
Our indoor dining space offers a welcoming and more intimate setting, thoughtfully designed for connection and comfort. Anchored by our signature large round dining table seating up to eight guests, the space is complemented by multiple high and low round tables with plush, cushioned seating, creating a relaxed yet refined dining experience. Positioned in front of our glassed wine cellar - showcasing some of our favourite wines - the room also features flexible table configurations, with most tables suited to groups of two to six and the ability to accommodate larger gatherings of up to 14. With a calm, inviting atmosphere throughout, this is a space to slow down, enjoy the food and wine, and leave the hustle and bustle of everyday life at the door.
Our venue lends itself beautifully to cocktail-style gatherings, full-venue takeovers, and relaxed celebrations with roving canapés, flowing drinks, and generous grazing options. It’s the kind of space where your guests will feel at home, stay well-fed, and leave with great memories.
